Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage) that CertOnyx actually uses on certonyx.com, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Strictly necessary (authentication and core functionality)
These are required for CertOnyx to work and cannot be switched off. They are set by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in and to secure your session, and by the platform itself for core functionality such as remembering your language preference. Because the service cannot function without them, they do not require, and are not subject to, the consent choice described below.
3. Optional analytics (Google Analytics)
CertOnyx can use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. This is off by default. Analytics cookies/scripts are only loaded if you explicitly accept them via the cookie-consent banner shown on your first visit; if you reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics does not load and no analytics data is collected or stored.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) so we don't ask again on every visit, and is respected using basic Google Consent Mode: before you make a choice, and whenever your choice is "reject," Google Analytics' script is never requested at all.
4. Checkout-related technologies (FastSpring)
When you start a purchase, CertOnyx loads FastSpring's Store Builder Library — a script provided by FastSpring, our reseller and Merchant of Record — to display its secure checkout popup. This script is only loaded when you click a purchase button, not on every page load. FastSpring may set its own cookies or similar technologies within that checkout experience as necessary to process your order, in accordance with FastSpring's own privacy and cookie practices, described in the FastSpring Privacy Statement. CertOnyx does not control what FastSpring itself sets during checkout.
5. What we do not use
CertOnyx does not use advertising, remarketing, or ad-personalization cookies of any kind. We do not use any analytics or tracking technology other than the optional, consent-gated Google Analytics described above.
6. Managing your preferences
You can accept or reject optional analytics at any time, and change your earlier choice, using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, or the equivalent control in your Account Settings if you're signed in. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies and local storage directly through their settings; note that blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent you from staying signed in or using core features of CertOnyx.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if the technologies we actually use change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
